During the second trip to Ethiopia in March 2011, their 13 year old son, Cade, was impacted by the lack of access to clean drinking water. He returned home and began telling his friends about the need for water wells in Africa. Their homeschool class was in the midst of reading the book Do Hard Things. Inspired, they decided to make a difference.
They formed a group called h20 (hydration 2 others). The main concern in choosing an organization to work with was that the Word of God actively be shared during the installation of the well. After three months of research, they partnered with our dear friend, Tom Abungu. Tom runs a school and orphanage in Kenya. He also oversees the installation of water wells in areas where they are desperately needed. He works through Connection Ministries.
